Welcome to AMSAs International Maritime Organization (IMO) Documentation Website. The AMSA website username and password has been changed. You can e-mail me on International Relations or fill in the password form and I will send you out the new username and password. Some sections of this website are password protected. Access to papers which are password protected are only available to Australian individuals, companies and organisations. AMSA has been given broad responsibilities by the Government for representing Australia in the IMO. While other Government organisations are responsible for certain specialised areas, AMSA provides the Australian focus for ship safety and pollution prevention matters and for IMO documents. AMSA relies on close consultation with industry and other Government bodies to ensure that the position adopted in IMO is developed with full knowledge of relevant Australian views. The intention of the information presented here is to ensure that all organisations and individuals in Government or industry have a knowledge of IMO instruments and proceedings and, where appropriate, have access to original documents. We aim to make this information available as promptly as possible and in the most appropriate form. The structure of these pages forms two main streams. One deals with static or slowly-moving matters such as conventions, codes and similar instruments. The other stream deals with the dynamics of IMO meetings and the issues discussed in, and submissions made to, these meetings by member Governments and non-Governmental organisations within the IMO. To access each area, please click on the relevant button on the left of the page. International Relations aim to ensure that the information provided here meets your needs. If it does not please tell us, by letter, fax 02 6279 5009 or e-mail international.relations@amsa.gov.au. Some files on this site require an Adobe Reader, if you don't already have this program click here. |
